If you had to make end-of-life decisions for your loved one today, would you know what to do?
This question fueled our team’s participation in Innovation in Action: Solutions to Real-World Challenges. It’s a five-month, university-wide challenge led by the University of Michigan’s School of Public Health and School of Education that stimulates innovative, collaborative undergraduate and graduate students to address real-world problems.
As we conducted interviews during our research phase in the competition, we kept hearing of various challenges caregivers keep facing. Life is more complicated when you can’t make end-of-life decisions for yourself. Even the most well-prepared loved one can struggle when a doctor’s question doesn’t align to the documents they have in hand.
We want to help people from all walks of life talk and make decisions about their end-of-life healthcare wishes and values.
And so we created Canopy: a tool to help you prepare today to manage the difficulties of tomorrow.
